Oakland Concludes First Semester Against Illinois State With Hockey Fights Cancer Game

Matchup: Oakland (9-6-1, 3-3-0) host Illinois State (4-10-1) Friday night 8:40pm at the ONYX and Saturday night 7:00pm at the ONYX.

All-time Series: Oakland is 3-1-0 all-time against the Redbirds, sweeping last season at Illinois State.

Scouting Oakland: Oakland is led by forward Chase Sereno with six goals and 18 assists. Captain Greg Meuser has scored five goals and added eight assists, while forward Ben Grudzien has seven points. Chandler Gillespie has added two goals and five assists. On defense, Oakland features Daniel Scorzo with one goal and five assists. Defenseman Gino Mini leads the defense with 14 points. In net Ian Dvorak (4-3-0) has a 3.03 goals against average and a save percentage of 89%. Goalie Joshua Pack (5-3-1) has a 3.39 goals against average and a save percentage of 89%

Scouting Illinois State: The Redbirds are led by forward Cory Schwarz with nine goals and seven assists. Forward Adam Howey has 13 points and forward Daniel Sarnecki has three goals and ten assists. On defense Anthony Corcoran leads the way with two goals and three assists and defenseman Crosley Duckmann has three points. In net Marc Hayton (2-5-0) has a 3.92 goals against average and a save percentage of 92%

Tough Road: Throw out the records, as Illinois State has played the #2, #5, #7, #10, #11, #18,and #22 ranked teams this season. They have defeated #7 Davenport (4-3), #11 Missouri State (6-5) and #18 Robert Morris Illinois (4-1). Two out of the Red Birds last three games, wins against RMU IL and Missouri State in Chicago at the RMU IL Showcase.
