Rochester, MI- Oakland Hockey general manager Corey Hagood has announced that forward Nic Fernandez has committed to Oakland.
Fernandez, comes to Oakland from the Detroit Fighting Irish (USPHL Premier) where he scored 15 goals and six assists last season.
"I'm very excited to get the year rolling and ready to get back on the grind." Fernandez stated.
In the past three seasons, Fernandez has scored 33 goals and a total of 54 points, which also included a season with the Michigan Wild (USPHL Midwest)
"Oakland's a very good school with a great hockey team." Fernandez stated when asked about his decision to commit.
Fernandez will be studying Criminal Justice while at Oakland.
On the ice, he will look to add a net front presence to the forward group. "On the ice "I’m a grinder." Fernandez stated.
"I work hard in the corners and as a forward I'll do my job in front of the net."
