Osaer & Hundt Named Oakland Assistant Coaches

Rochester Hills, MI- New Oakland ACHA DI Hockey head coach Nick Field has named Phil Osaer and Aaron Hundt has his assistant coaches.

Osaer comes to Oakland after serving as the Director of Hockey Operations at Michigan State University (NCAA) He is also currently the National Goaltending Manager for USA Hockey. 

He played his college hockey at Ferris State University (NCAA) from 1998-2001. He was named the Bulldogs' Team MVP and voted to the All-CCHA second team in 2001. A seventh-round NHL draft pick of the St. Louis Blues in 1999, Osaer went on to play 12 seasons of professional hockey. He earned call-ups with both the New York Rangers (2003) and Florida Panthers (2005) and later played in Europe.

Hundt comes to Oakland from Lake Orion High School  where he served as an assistant coach under coach Field for the previous eight seasons.

He was named the 2016-17 MHSAA Division 1 Assistant Coach Of The Year.

Hundt played college hockey at Michigan State (NCAA) and Wayne State (NCAA) While at Michigan State, Hundt was part of the 2001 CCHA championship team and 2001 Frozen Four team. Hundt was also a member of the 2003 CHA championship team while at Wayne State.
