Rochester Hills, MI- Oakland ACHA DI Hockey has announced that Nick Field, has been named as the programs new head coach.
Field comes to Oakland after spending the previous eight seasons at Lake Orion High School, where he went 103-70-18.
“I’m very honored to have the opportunity to take over as Head Coach and work with these great student athletes." Field stated.
Under his leadership, the Dragons won a MHSAA Regional title, three OAA Regular season titles, an OAA Playoff Championship, along with an appearance in the MHSAA State Quarter Finals. Field had 20 MHSAA All State player selections and 44 MHSAA All State Academic athletes.
"The hockey program here at Oakland University has a very prestigious tradition in the ACHA, as a staff our goal is to try and do whatever we can do to put our players in a position to have success and get back to competing on a national level. We very excited and looking forward to the upcoming season.” Field added.
Field, played college hockey at Ferris State University (NCAA) where he was a member of the 2003 CCHA Championship team. Following college, he played for the Huntsville Havoc (SPHL) and the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL)
