Former Oakland Defenseman Jacob DeSano Named Assistant Coach

Rochester Hills, MI- Oakland Hockey head coach Nick Field has named former Oakland defenseman Jacob DeSano as an assistant coach. He previously served as an assistant coach for Warren DeLaSalle and as an assistant coach at Notre Dame Prep before coming to Oakland. He joins Aaron Hundt and Nick Tomczyk on the staff for coach Field.

DeSano played his junior hockey for North Iowa (NAHL). He played college hockey at Oakland University (2008-12). During his four seasons as a Golden Grizzly, he appeared in 125 game scoring 26 goals, 64 assists for 90 points. He was also named to Team USA for the World University Games in Erzurum, Turkey in 2011.

While at Oakland DeSano won a GLCHL Playoff Championship (2011), a GLCHL Regular Season Championship (2012) and finished #2 in the nation in 2012 with a National Championship Game appearance.

DeSano finished his playing career as one of the best defenseman in program history.

Oakland opens up the 2019-20 regular season at the ONYX on Friday, September 27th.
