Rochester Hills, MI- Oakland Hockey general manager Corey Hagood has announced that forward Ryan Saad has committed to Oakland. He joins the program as head coach Nick Field and assistant coach Aaron Hundt remake the Golden Grizzlies.
Saad comes to Oakland from Anchor Bay High School (USHS) where he scored 30 goals and 28 assists in 22 games this past season.
Oakland held its early signing day this weekend at the ONYX Ice Arena. The Golden Grizzlies have seven new commits we will be announcing. Coach Field and his staff are also still on the recruiting trail, with a few more spots open on next season's roster.
"I chose to commit to Oakland because it is close to home and is the perfect fit for me." Saad stated about his commitment to the Golden Grizzlies.
He will look to be an all around player on the ice and using his hockey awareness to create chances, while also being responsible with the defensive side of his game. "I’m an all around player, that has a great set of skills and ice awareness." Saad said.
"I am always looking for open players, while also contributing on the defensive end of the ice."
While at Oakland Saad will study engineering while also taking business classes.
