Rochester Hills, MI- The 2019 Oakland ACHA DI Hockey end of season awards ceremony was hosted in the Oakland Center on the campus of Oakland University. Head coach Nick Field gave his end of the season remarks and goalie Ian Dvorak delivered his senior speech while being presented with his #39 jersey.
The awards were voted on by the OU Hockey players.
For the second straight season forward Chase Sereno was named as the The Will McMahon Most Valuable Player. He finished the season with a team leading 36 points. Sereno also for the second straight season was named as the The Brent Cooper Most Valuable Offensive Player.
This season's Rookie of the Year went to goalie Joshua Pack. He finished with a 7-6-1 record in his first season on ACHA DI action.
Freshman Danny Scorzo was awarded the The Scott Elder Pride, Hustle and Desire award. Scorzo played forward and defense this season and finished with seven points.
The The Brian Belliotti Most Improved Player was awarded to forward Chris Hubbard. Hubbard missed most of last season with an injury and bounced back this year to score 16 goals and 10 assists. Hubbard led the team in goals.
Defenseman Gino Mini was named at the The Karl Borquist Most Valuable Defensive Player award winner. Mini led the defense and had career highs in goals 11 assists 16 and points 27.
To wrap up the evening goalie Tommy Grassano was named as the winner of the OU Hockey Sportsmanship Award.
